Information Discovery Leader Among Those 'That Matter Most in the Digital Content Industry'

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Nov. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Inxight® Software(TM), Inc., the leading provider of enterprise software solutions for information discovery, announced today that it had been named to the prestigious EContent 100 for the third consecutive year. The award is presented by EContent magazine "to companies that matter most in the digital content industry."
Developed annually, the EContent 100 list provides a look at the stand-out public and private companies that demonstrate the winning strategies and solutions that define the digital content industry. Judges included EContent's contributing editors and frequent contributors, as well as editors from Information Today.

Inxight was honored in the Classification & Taxonomy category. EContent Editor Michelle Manafy writes:

"A taxonomy is simply a way of classifying things. When the definition is applied to digital content, it usually includes software that uses auto-categorization algorithms to find, screen, and classify information. This approach often involves sample documents categorized manually and then used to train a taxonomy system to classify other information automatically."

"Inxight wants data users to see the big picture," the judges wrote. "Its SmartDiscovery® product is a taxonomy tool that analyzes data and builds a visual taxonomy allowing users to see connections among information types and to navigate this information more easily. With roots in Xerox's legendary Research PARC, Inxight was spun off in 1997. This year they released version 4 of their flagship SmartDiscovery product along with TimeWall, a futuristic-looking 3D graphical representation of data displayed on three panels."

This is the eighth award this year for Inxight and its industry-leading information discovery platform, SmartDiscovery.

"We are delighted that EContent has once again chosen to honor Inxight with this award," said Inxight President and CEO Ian Bonner. "This recognizes our continuing commitment to delivering a platform that enables our customers to reap true value from their information assets."
