Hoarding information and knowledge has long been one of the key ways individuals and departments maintain their position and status within the corporate hierarchy. Unfortunately, this model no longer serves the best interests of businesses and other organizations. Knowledge management, in which information and knowledge are appropriately, clearly, and effectively kneaded throughout all the layers of the organization, is one of the critical keys to survival and success.
